Cane Foley is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s January Student of the Month!
Cane is a full-day senior from East Palestine High School and is enrolled in the Automotive Collision Repair (ACR) Program under the instruction of Mr. Rick DeSalvo. Cane is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC, and he serves as the president of the ACR program. During his time at the CCCTC, Cane has earned several certifications and credentials. He has earned his OSHA-10 credential. He has also earned four Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Student Certifications in the areas of Structural Analysis & Damage Repair, Non-Structural Analysis & Damage Repair, Painting & Refinishing, and Mechanical & Electrical.
Cane currently participates in the CCCTC work-based learning program and is employed at Walt’s Auto Body where he has been working for six months. At Walt’s, he does just about everything including sanding, painting, paintless dent repair, and metal working. Cane’s future plans are to continuing working in the auto body field to learn as much as possible so that he can eventually start his own business someday. His primary goal in learning this trade is so that he can start his own business, but he also wanted to achieve his goal of restoring and finishing his own cars.
Cane states, “The CCCTC was a good choice for me because it helped me be able to get ahead in understanding the field of auto body repair.” Cane was nominated by Mr. Rick DeSalvo stating, “Cane Foley is hard working. He is on work-based learning with Walt’s Body Shop. Talking with Wynn Cooper, owner of Walt’s Body Shop, Wynn says he is very pleased with Cane being part of his team. Cane wants to learn everything he can about auto collision repair. Cane also works hard at his academic classes. I see Cane doing very well in life.”
Cane is the son of Justin and Sarah Foley.
