State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel (R-New Waterford) has announced the opening of applications for the USDA Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). This program aims to provide financial assistance to farmers affected by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024, with a total of $16 billion in federal funding available.
“Ohio’s farmers are the backbone of our nation’s economy and the lifeblood of our rural communities,” said Robb Blasdel. “We would like to encourage all affected farmers to apply for these funds. Our office will be available to provide any assistance necessary.”
Eligible producers include those who experienced losses due to various natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, floods, derechos, excessive heat, tornadoes, winter storms, freeze events including polar vortexes, smoke exposure, excessive moisture, qualifying droughts, and related conditions.
To apply for SDRP assistance, producers must submit the FSA-526 form along with other required documentation on file with the Farm Service Agency (FSA).
