State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel has announced the allocation of state funds to support the repair efforts for the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail in Columbiana County. The Columbiana County Park District will receive nearly $1.3 million to resurface 12 miles of this trail.
Robb Blasdel expressed her enthusiasm about the funding, stating, “The Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail is one of Columbiana County’s hidden gems! Whether you're biking, walking, or running, this beautiful, safe, paved trail offers stunning views of wooded areas, wetlands, and open fields.” She encouraged families to make use of the trail during the summer months.
The funding comes from the Ohio Department of Transportation's Transportation Alternative Program (TAP), a grant initiative with a budget of $52 million. This program aims to provide state funding over four years for transportation alternatives such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects improving access to public transportation and mobility, community improvement activities, recreational trails, and Safe Routes to School projects.
