The Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Resolution 87, which aims to establish Nurses Week in the state. The announcement was made by State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel from Columbiana.

The resolution designates May 6-12, 2025, as Nurses and Health Professionals Week in Ohio. This initiative seeks to honor the significant contributions of nurses and health professionals to the well-being of residents across the state.

Robb Blasdel expressed her gratitude towards these professionals, stating: “From providing compassionate bedside care to advocating for patients and promoting their wellness, the dedication and expertise of nurses are truly invaluable. Thank you, nurses and healthcare professionals, for working tirelessly to keep Ohioans healthy and safe.”

Data from the Ohio Board of Nursing indicates that there are over 300,000 licensed nurses and related health professionals currently serving in Ohio.
