Congratulations to 5th grade teacher Ashley Bryne who was honored as one of the award winners of the Bonnie Hoppel School Health Project Awards.
She plans on using the grant money to start a running club at Westgate Middle School. Organized sports are not for everyone. Sometimes just teaching young people the benefits of regular activity and movement helps inspire them! Mrs Bryne will be partnering with fellow 5th grade teacher (and marathon runner) Melanie Spencer Rowley and East Liverpool City Hospital to bring this to our students for the next two years! More information to come soon to anyone who has a student at Westgate who may be interested!
