Medical Schools That Don’t Require MCAT | Avalon University School of Medicine

Avalon University School of Medicine is one of many medical schools that don’t require MCAT score reports upon admission but does STRONGLY RECOMMEND it as the MCAT helps determine what MD track you will be placed in. Because Avalon does not require an MCAT score report, we can accept a wide range of students. As we ring in each new semester, we here at Avalon like to take a moment to reflect on our newly accepted students.

The January 2023 semester saw the entrance of some very impressive students with diverse backgrounds. Help us welcome some of our wonderful new students to the Avalon Family!

“My name is Selina George, I am from London Ontario, Canada, and I’m 23 years old. I am an ice hockey goalie and chess player. I have 2 cats and enjoy cooking and learning new recipes. I was introduced to the island of Curaçao about a year ago by my parents and fell in love with it immediately. I am so grateful to have started with Avalon.”

Selina George, Pre-Med Student

“My name is Mark Piterskiy, I am from Russia, and I am 24 years old. I have previously received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from St. Lawrence University in the U. S. and I am super excited to finally have joined Avalon this year! I definitely recommend the school because all staff and students are extremely friendly and open-minded. See you at Avalon and remember, everything will be AUSOM ;)”

Mark Pitersky, Basic Sciences Student

“I am Mike Aycock, a “non-traditional,” 56-year-old former music teacher, now in Term 5 at Avalon. I am from Huntsville, Alabama. I have a wife of 35 years and 3 “kids’ ‘ that are 27, 28, and 34 years old. Avalon has been supportive in every way. The school feels like home. I have made so many friends. I look forward to finishing on the island and starting clinical rotations.”

Mike Aycock, MD5 Basic Sciences Student

These three students are just a few of the students we were able to welcome to Avalon because of our present status as one of the medical schools that don’t require MCAT. We love our students, and we love the diversity of our student body.
