Avalon University School of Medicine issued the following announcement on Mar 18.

Dr. Shokat Fatteh (Chancellor, Avalon University School of Medicine) is a retired dermatopathology specialist who completed his medical degree in Baroda, India at the Baroda Medical College. He completed his residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York.

An accomplished Pathologist in Ohio, he felt the need to give back to this noble profession of medicine. He was immensely grateful to the country that provided him the means to achieve his success as a physician. He wanted to provide a place where a good education could be had for all including children of Indian origin.

To that endeavor, he opened the school, Avalon University School of Medicine on the island of Curaçao. All eligible students of Indian origin are given a scholarship to attend so that their dreams of becoming a physician can also be realized.

He is immensely thankful to his wife and two children for supporting him in this noble and visionary journey!
