Students from the Junior Leadership of Columbiana County program visited the Kent State Salem Campus where they learned about options for beginning their higher education journeys close to home.

The students are sophomores and juniors representing Beaver Local, Columbiana, Crestview, Leetonia, Lisbon, Salem, United and Wellsville high schools. They engaged with faculty in the nursing, radiology and biology labs, as well as the campus green house.

An extension of the Leadership Columbiana County, the Junior Leadership program is designed to promote teamwork and management skills, build self-confidence, foster personal growth and encourage civic engagement with students who have been identified as future leaders. The students explore Columbiana County during monthly sessions with local organizations, businesses, governments and agencies.
