Anakin Boyd is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s December Student of the Month!

Anakin is a full-day senior from Beaver Local High School and is enrolled in the Welding Program under the instruction of Mr. Michael Boyle. Anakin is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC. He has also earned his OSHA-10 credentials while a student. After formerly working at King Buffet in Calcutta, Anakin currently participates in the CCCTC work-based learning program and is employed at Boardman Steel.

Anakin’s future plans are to enter into the workforce after graduation. He would like to use his experience as a skilled tradesman to obtain a job that will ensure financial stability without causing him to acquire student debt. His goals in learning this trade is that it allows him flexibility in work choices while also providing the financial means to afford and continue to enjoy his hobbies. Anakin stated “The CCCTC allows me to learn a trade so I can go into the workforce in a career that is in high-demand without being required to continue into a post-secondary education. Even better is that because of the CCCTC, I get to do a job I enjoy.”

Anakin was nominated by Mr. Michael Boyle stating, “I nominated Anakin because of his character.  He is soft spoken and respectful to everyone in the class and lab. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Anakin and enjoy being around him and watching him excel as a top-notch individual and welder.”

Anakin is the son of Tia and Caleb Boyd.

Congratulations Anakin Boyd, our CCCTC December Student of the Month!!
