Colton Hickman September Student of the Month

Colton Hickman is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s September Student of the Month. Colton is a full-day CCCTC Senior from East Palestine High School and is enrolled in the Precision Machining & Manufacturing (PMM) Program under the instruction of Mr. Matt Peters. Colton is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and SkillsUSA Chapters at the CCCTC, winning the Job Skill Demo CCCTC Local Competition during the 2021-2022 school year. Colton has earned OSHA-10 and National Institute of Metalworking Skills credentials in Measurement, Materials, and Safety; Job Planning, Benchwork, and Layout; Grinding I; Turning Between Centers; Turning - Chucking; Drill Press I; and Milling I.   Colton is currently enrolled in the CCCTC work based learning program and is employed at Hall Industries. Colton’s future plans are to join the United States Army Reserves and pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree from YSU. Colton stated “The CCCTC offered me an opportunity to learn something new that will positively impact my future. What I am currently learning is providing me a great foundation for what I’ll pursue in my future.”

Colton was nominated by Mr. Matt Peters stating “Colton is focused and ambitious. He maximizes his time in the machine shop and takes advantage of the opportunities presented to him. Colton’s best quality is accountability.”

Colton is the son of Kimberly McBride and Joshua Hickman.
