MECHANIC-PUBLIC WORKS-CITY OF EAST LIVERPOOL
The City of East Liverpool is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic within the Public Works-Mechanic Garage. Under the direction of the Safety Service Director, the Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing both gasoline and diesel engines and related equipment for the City, including but not limited to City vehicles, dump trucks, cruisers and equipment (backhoe, front loader, skid steer, mini excavator, etc.) in all city departments. The employee must be available for callout and to work various hours. The employee will be required to complete related work orders, keep accurate records of repairs, and run reports. Complete any and /or all other duties assigned by the Safety Service Director. Must be a certified auto/truck mechanic.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma; possess a valid drivers license; have knowledge of materials, parts, and equipment as related to diesel and gasoline engines, the ability to locate repairs and defects in motorized vehicles and related equipment and have experience as a mechanic in an auto repair environment or equivalent combination of experience and training.
The position’s salary is $19.57 per hour and will follow the AFSCME 677 departments and contractual rules for the rate of pay for this position.
