Columbiana Chamber of Commerce will be canceling their July 4th event

M

In order to benefit and support Columbiana, the nicest place in America, the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce will be canceling their July 4th event that was to be held on County Line Rd. Our intent in moving the fireworks was for safety. As a Chamber of Commerce, we feel a fireworks ‘battle’ and the us versus them message, does not reflect the nicest place in America or the true reasons for doing the event. The Chamber has never discouraged or spoken poorly of any group planning events for the Holiday in the park for the Fourth of July. Instead we encouraged it.  We felt that two events for our community would give more options.  However, The divide that has been created within our community has been evident by comments and actions of certain community members towards Chamber Board Members and sponsor businesses.  We no longer wish to be a part of creating that division.

We will continue partnering with Boardman Nissan, by sponsoring the “Vehicle for a Veteran”  car give-away to conclude on the 2nd of July at 2:00pm During the Chamber of Commerce’s Chalkfest right on Main Street. Details about this program, and how to register a veteran, can be found at this link  https://boardmannissan.com/vehicle-veteran

The Columbiana Chamber feels that our mission (To represent and protect the interests of our members, local, and surrounding communities. The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to the growth and revitalization of Columbiana as it strives to create healthy business and community relationships) needs to be upheld, and that we need to continue to do what is best for Columbiana.
