City of Canfield issued the following announcement on Mar 2.
In a heartfelt message to customers of FirstEnergy’s Ohio electric companies – including The Ohio Edison Company – our employees are encouraging customers experiencing financial hardship to contact us as soon as possible to establish affordable payment arrangements or obtain assistance before winter utility disconnection moratoriums are lifted and shut-offs for nonpayment resume April 15.
Through the campaign “We’re Customers Just Like You,” personal experiences of the company’s Customer Service and Human Services employees are being highlighted in video, social media and personalized emails to show customers we are dedicated to helping them get through challenging times.
We all play an important part in making our customers’ lives brighter and our communities stronger. Our community partners, like you, can help us educate our customers on the various assistance programs available to them.
It’s possible you know of someone within the community who is on a fixed income or facing a financial hardship that makes paying their utility bills difficult. We encourage you to help spread the word that a variety of assistance and payment options are available to help them overcome a challenging time.
