Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb 24.
We are so excited that a major renovation project is under way at the Roxy Theatre! Beginning last Monday, the Sandy Creek Joint Fire District - Minerva Fire firefighters are demolishing the interior structure at the theater as a training exercise. Removing this structure will allow us to start with a clean slate upon which to design an upgraded multipurpose arts facility.
It has taken a lot of work just to get to this point, and a huge thank you goes to the many volunteers who have cleaned out and prepared the theater for the demolition phase, to the Kishmans for providing us with temporary storage space, to Bob Harris of Harris Commercial/Residential for overseeing this project, and to Dave Catlett of Dave Catlett Construction for organizing the firefighters efforts.
