OPINION: Three reasons for Youngstown to Re-Elect President Trump

Trumpcortes

With only two weeks until election day, here are three reasons that the Youngstown area of Ohio should re-elect President Donald Trump and repudiate the Biden agenda.

Dangerous Illegal Migrant Crime in Youngstown

We often hear of illegal immigration being a problem in sanctuary jurisdictions like California or New York City, but illegal immigration is a crime that affects every state and probably every city in America. Unfortunately, that also includes Youngstown, Ohio. In 2017, a federal grand jury indicted two illegal immigrants from Youngstown. Both had already been deported before, and one was deported after receiving a felony conviction.

President Trump is the only candidate on the ballot this November who will ensure that illegal migrants face consequences.  Meanwhile, Joe Biden has said that he will fight for a widespread amnesty for the more than 11 million illegal immigrants living in the country and has said he would also enact a 100-day moratorium on deportations. Biden prioritizes foreign nationals over American citizens.

Public Safety: back the blue in Ohio and demand the rule of law

The Ohio chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police voted “overwhelmingly” to ratify the national Fraternal Order of Police to officially endorse President Trump’s re-election. In fact, every major law enforcement organization in America has publicly endorsed the president. Why do Ohio cops back President Trump? In large part, because he back them, and hard-working cops appreciate a leader who insists on respect for those wearing the badge and demands our streets operate with respect for the rule of law.

Sadly, vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris fails miserably on this topic. Harris needs to answer to Ohio cops – and to all Ohio citizens -- why she used her Twitter account with 5.7 million followers to solicit donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund following the Twin Cities riots. Among the many dangerous criminals freed on bail by that fund was Jaleel Stallings, charged with attempted murder for firing shots at St. Paul police officers. Various Biden campaign staffers also openly boasted about contributing to this fund that freed an attempted cop-killer. Can brave police officers across Ohio trust Biden and Harris?

Economic renewal vs. a retreat back to globalism

An economic renaissance flourishes across America as our great nation recovers from the ravages of the China Virus with amazing speed and tangible results for American workers. Although everyone acknowledges that a lot of hard work still lies ahead to reclaim the heights of the Trump Boom that we enjoyed in the early months of this year, we should also celebrate the inedible economic progress already achieved, and the trajectory of revival that promises more prosperity ahead. Specifically, America has added over 11.4 million jobs back over the last 5 months, and quality jobs with strong 4.7% annualized wage growth. 56% of Americans report that they are better off today than they were 4 years ago, even with the challenges of the pandemic. That solid majority reflects the incredible economic strength of America prior to the pandemic, as 2019 was the best year wage growth in U.S. history.

In contrast, Joe Biden presents a dismal record of economic failure. During Biden’s  half century in the Washington swamp, and he’s been a true Delaware senator, representing the interests of giant multinational corporations and the prerogatives of foreign governments, to the detriment of American workers, especially heartland industrial workers in places like Ohio. In fact, Biden was a foremost proponent of the disastrous NAFTA agreement in 1994. From the ratification of NAFTA until President Trump’s election, Ohio lost a staggering 304,700 manufacturing jobs. Thankfully, President Trump renegotiated that terrible trade deal and replaced it with the USMCA pact which prioritizes American workers.

Joe Biden was also the best friend the tyrants of Beijing could ever ask for in Washington. As senator and as vice-president, he aggressively pushed China’s inclusion into the World Trade Organization and enabled the Chinese Communist Party’s systematic abuse of American workers through trade practices that were predatory, not reciprocal, and even outright criminal. According to a study from the Economic Policy Institute, the state of Ohio lost 121,400 jobs due to the disastrous trade structures with China that Biden facilitated.

Biden’s own family prospered though, as his wayward son Hunter received millions of dollars from the two most dangerous adversaries of the United States: China and Russia. The recent bombshell reports from both the New York Post as well as the Senate Homeland Security Committee detail that Hunter collected massive sums from shady operators connected to Putin and the Chinese Communist Party. Even worse, both the Post and the Senate Committee presented clear evidence Joe Biden knew about it all as vice-president.

Clearly, Joe Biden prioritizes the prosperity of places like Shanghai over places like Shaker Heights.
