69 percent of applicants to Youngstown State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Youngstown State University, 84 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Youngstown enrolled 12,607 students in fall 2018, including 11,442 in undergraduate and 1,165 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

82 percent of undergraduates are residents of Ohio, and 16 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (75 percent) and Black or African American (10 percent).

The school admitted 69 percent of the 10,635 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
