Rep. Mike Rulli, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of tweets between April 13 and April 15, 2026, addressing topics ranging from historical commemoration to economic policy.
On April 13, Rulli marked Thomas Jefferson’s birthday by highlighting the former president’s contributions to American principles. He wrote: “On Thomas Jefferson’s birthday, we honor the legacy of our third president and principal author of the Declaration of Independence. His ideas on freedom, limited government, and the rights of the individual remain central to our nation’s founding principles.”
The following day, April 14, Rulli commented on a new federal initiative benefiting children born in America between 2025 and 2028. He stated: “Every child born in America between 2025 and 2028 gets a $1,000 head start from the U.S. Treasury. 15 million kids. Building wealth from day one. That’s the @POTUS economy.” This policy reflects recent efforts by federal lawmakers to address wealth inequality through direct payments to newborns.
On Tax Day, April 15, Rulli addressed tax policy as it relates to his constituents in Ohio’s 6th District: “On Tax Day, remember: lower taxes on working families and small businesses mean more jobs, higher wages, and stronger communities in Ohio’s 6th District. I fought for the Working Families Tax Cuts because Americans deserve to keep more of what they earn. Grateful for the relief” The Working Families Tax Cuts have been part of ongoing legislative discussions aimed at reducing financial burdens for middle- and lower-income Americans.
Thomas Jefferson served as the third President of the United States and was instrumental in drafting foundational documents such as the Declaration of Independence. Policies like direct payments to children reflect broader debates about economic opportunity and intergenerational equity in contemporary U.S. politics.
