State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel has announced that the City of Columbiana will receive a $1,000,000 grant for roadwork improvements. The funding was approved by the State Controlling Board during their meeting on Monday. The investment aims to create jobs and stimulate the local economy.

Robb Blasdel expressed her enthusiasm about the significant investment, stating, "This is about creating jobs and growing our local economy. Not only will the City of Columbiana benefit from this, but our entire region will see the positive impact."

The grant will result in the creation of 14 full-time equivalent jobs and ensure the retention of 167 existing jobs. This will provide employment opportunities and stability for the community.

The Roadwork Development Grant is part of the historic transportation budget that recently passed the legislature and was signed into law earlier this year. The funding will address much-needed road improvements in Columbiana and contribute to the overall development and growth of the region.

The State Controlling Board has scheduled its next meeting for December 18th. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss and approve further funding for projects that will benefit communities across the state.

The investment in roadwork improvements reflects the commitment of State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel and the legislature to support infrastructure development and economic growth. The $1,000,000 grant will not only enhance the transportation infrastructure in Columbiana but also contribute to the prosperity of the entire region.
